I've been teaching English at Tipton High School in Tipton, Indiana, since 1978. In 1992 I was awarded a Lilly Endowment Fellowship to float down a section of the Mississippi River to recreate some of The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn. That trip was lots of fun. In 2007 I applied for another Lilly Endowment Fellowship. This time I wanted to do a nature study of Strawtown Koteewi Park which is five miles east of Cicero, Indiana. The Lilly Endowment liked my proposal and awarded me one of their Fellowships for the summer of 2008. I used their funds to purchase some professional quality photography equipment. So much to learn!
